         Browns of Fall in December.  December is very brown like the photos show of a fallen tree that is still at Warren Dunes State Park today.  A number of years ago, a tree fell over and its roots stuck up in the air.   See a few of my outdoor photos of December, in Michigan, in my daily blog.

 

         Photo Review of Seasons and Months of 2023.  Since December is the last month of the year, I'll display a sampling of photos from this whole year.  It shows good times that I had outdoors in nature in Michigan and during travels as well as the new fun board games that I invented for my education classes and my ABC Garden of nature and art classes.  See a variety of this year's photos, in my daily blog.

         Colorful Leaves and Trees of Fall.  In Three Oaks and southwest Michigan, most trees are colorful from about October 15 to November 8.  Yet, there are still several colorful trees in mid-November.  Plus, oaks and beech trees turn warm colors from orange to brown.   See a few of my photos of the colorful trees, mushrooms, and wildlife in November, in Michigan, in my daily blog.

         September Beach Days in Michigan.  Like most years, this September 2023 had hot summer days - 80 degrees F (26 Celsius).  There were great summer beach days.  Lake Michigan's water was still warm - 70 degrees F (21 Celsius).   See a few of my photos of Lake Michigan and its beautiful colors and waves, in my daily blog.

         Northern Michigan, Porcupine Mountains of western Upper Peninsula.  My family went tent camping at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park, Michigan.  We played at the coast of Lake Superior.  We hiked to the summit of the tallest mountain.  Plus, we hiked to many waterfalls along a few rivers of Michigan.  See a few of my photos of mountains, Lake Superior, wildflowers, and waterfalls, in my daily blog.

 

         Northern Wisconsin, Apostle Islands, Lake Superior.  My family went tent camping on the coast of mainland Wisconsin, with a view of the Apostle Islands of Lake Superior.  We went kayaking along the coastal cliffs and through natural rock arches and into cliff caves.  Plus, we took a ferry to Stockton Island, one of the 20 Apostle Islands.  See a few of my photos of islands, kayaking, sculptural cliffs, a ferry ride, wildflowers, and more, in my daily blog.

         Fun and Games.  This summer 2023, I finished inventing and creating a first draft of 23 board games.  The games help to bring fun to learning and learning to fun, for my nature classes and interdisciplinary classes.  For many years, I've played outdoor nature games with my students, and I still do.  This year, I created a series of indoor board games for a change.  The games help me to teach science, art, history, ecology, economy, and more and how they relate to each other and to nature.   See a few of my photos of people and me playing a few of my 23 games, in my daily blog.

 

         Michigan Beaches and Orchids.  In summer, I enjoy the blue skies and waters and the green trees along Lake Michigan beaches.  Cheers to the blues and greens of summer and swimming in the lake.  Plus, I take photos of plants in the summer, includes orchids.   See a few of my photos of Michigan Beaches and Orchids, in my daily blog.
