Native Plants vs. Exotic Plants. The above photo shows a meadow of the Canadian Goldenrod (Solidago canadensis), which is native to Michigan, northeastern USA, and some of Canada. Native Michigan plants support Michigan butterflies, birds, and other wildlife. Exotic plants are plants that are from other parts of the world. See my

Nature and Art Classes. Over ten years ago, I started the Galien Valley Nature and Culture Program and, more recently, the ABC Garden to teach nature-science classes and nature-art classes including "Habitats and Wildlife" and "Nature and the Community Arts."
